Although interested in an art career as a teen, getting serious about it came later in life for Robin Shore following a teaching and business career. Expressing herself through art has been a lifelong dream.

Robin’s strong watercolor and pastel background includes landscapes, still lives, botanicals, and abstracts. Her works tend to be colorful, loose and have decorative patterns and textures. Being a pet lover made it easy for Robin to develop an interest in creating custom pet portraits. Recently Robin started marketing her line of jewelry at both craft shows and at home shows. The high-end fashion jewelry may be trendy or classic but always of high quality semi-precious stones, natural beads and pearls, glass and sterling silver. Each piece is unique.

“What is art if it isn’t what is inside the artist’s heart and soul?” asks Robin who puts her emotions into her creations by putting herself into them. Some of her best works are truly intrinsic to her personality.

Robin’s work has been exhibited locally at galleries including Atlanta College of Art, Raiford Gallery in Roswell, Blackberry Creek Gallery in Dawsonville, Arts Bee Lo at Tula Art Center in Atlanta, Art in Bloom in Clayton, the Delta Headquarters Gallery in Atlanta, Studio Z in Atlanta and The Swag in Waynesville, NC. She has also exhibited in a variety of shows in North Georgia and in Illinois. Her two-dimensional work is hung in private collections around the world…including Elton John’s country home in England!

Robin left the business world in 1990 shortly after moving to Atlanta from the Chicago area. She did volunteer work throughout the 1990s but in 1994 concentrating on art became her long-awaited priority. Receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois, Robin taught first grade for a short time. Her favorite subject to teach? Art. A perennial student, since graduation Robin has taken a variety of classes including a myriad of art-related classes. In Atlanta she has studied at the Atlanta College of Art, Callanwolde, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Chastain, Spruill Art Center in Atlanta and privately. Robin is married to retired business man Doug Shore and has two “cat-children” Maddie and Ani. She and her husband have homes in Atlanta and the Chicago area.
